Cosmos atrosanguineus ‘Vg001’ (CHERRY CHOCOLATE) – Florensis Cosmos atrosanguineus ‘Vg001’ (CHERRY CHOCOLATE) has the largest flowers of all atrosanguineus varieties, measuring about 7 cm in diameter.
The flowers are notable for their unique cherry to wine red color and smell of chocolate.
The flowering period is very long, from late May until the first frost, and the flowers are very attractive to pollinators.
The larger flowers give this plant added value over other Cosmos.
It thrives in full sun and moderately fertile, well-drained soil and is ideal for the border or in a pot on the patio.
CHERRY CHOCOLATE is coming to market in small numbers this year and is available through several chains, particularly the higher end.
The plant was sent in by Florensis from Hendrik Ido Ambacht.
